Applications for Sandusky County Community Christmas will open 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, and will be accepted until 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16. Applications will only be accepted by electronic submission at:

Note that all required fields on forms must be completed in order to be accepted. Incomplete forms will not be accepted.

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicants must be a resident of Sandusky County
• Applicants must provide the last four digits of Social Security numbers for all listed household members
• Applicants must provide at least one working telephone number
• Applicants must provide an email address
• Application must be electronically signed by the household contact person
• Only one application per address is allowed — if two families reside at one address they must be listed on the same application

Please note that due to regulations on mass texting, we have had to move to email notifications for pickup instructions. Should you not have an email address, please message our Facebook page or call/text the assistance hotline. We anticipate sending out 3-4 emails during the months of November and December. You are encouraged to check for messages from communitychristmas.sc@gmail.com regularly so you don't miss out on updates. General notices will be made to our Facebook page as well.

Details

Children (those 12 or younger) will be given the opportunity to provide a wish list as well as clothing sizes via the application form. The wish list is not a guarantee for any of those items to be provided but will serve as guidance to donors for the interests of each child.

Children ages 13-18 (and enrolled in high school) may be included on the household's application for gifts. They will have an opportunity to provide their favorite color, favorite food, and favorite activity. Our donors will work to provide customized gift bags using those answers and items from our most requested gift list.

Seniors (those over age 65) will receive care boxes including some of the most requested gift items and will not submit wish list items via the application form.

Households must have at least one school aged child (or younger) or one senior over age 65 to request food assistance. A request for food assistance does not guarantee a meal basket or frozen turkey will be provided.

Please note that not all applications may be fulfilled

Although Community Christmas would like to grant all requests for assistance, the need in the community is great, and therefore, we cannot guarantee that every request will be fulfilled. Families will be notified if they have been matched with a donor and will receive notification by Dec. 1, 2026, along with instructions on how your gifts will be made available to you.

Sandusky County Community Christmas helps to connect organizations and individuals who wish to help those who are struggling to put food on their tables and provide gifts for their children this holiday season. By acting collaboratively, we are able to reach a greater number of families and avoid duplicative efforts. Partnering organizations include Fremont City Schools, GLCAP, Sandusky County Habitat for Humanity, Sandusky County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Sandusky County Food Pantry, Toys for Tots, and the United Way of Sandusky County.
