Summer Crisis Program available until Sept. 30
Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) is continuing to offer assistance to eligible residents of Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood counties through the Summer Crisis Program, available now through Sept. 30, or until funding is depleted.
The Summer Crisis Program aids with utility bills, central air conditioning repairs, and air conditioning units or fans for eligible households. Assistance is available to households that include a senior member age 60 or older, or a household member with physician documentation showing a need for cooling assistance due to health concerns. The program also serves households with a utility shut-off notice, those that have already had service disconnected, or households establishing new electric service.
To qualify, households of up to eight members must have income at or below 175% of the federal poverty guidelines (e.g., $27,387.50 annual income for a household of one; $56,262.50 for a family of four). For households with nine or more members, income must be at or below 60% of the state median income.
