Head Start continues to enroll for 2025-2026 school year

Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) Head Start preschool is now enrolling students for the 2026-2027 school year. Classes will begin Aug. 24.
Head Start provides no-cost, all-day preschool for children ages 3-5 for eligible families. GLCAP’s early childhood centers are located in Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood County. Center locations include:
• Bowling Green Jordan Family Development Center, 812 N. College Dr.
• Fostoria Family Development Center, 801 Kirk St.
• Fremont Stricker Family Development Center, 765 S. Buchanan St.
• Genoa Early Childhood Center, 1224 West St.
• Perrysburg/Rossford Early Childhood Center, 28744 Simmons Rd., Perrysburg
• Port Clinton Early Childhood Center, 1848 E. Perry St.
• Sylvania Early Childhood Center, 7240 Erie St.
• Tiffin Early Childhood Center, 182 St. Francis Ave.
• Toledo Bancroft Early Childhood Center, 2151 N. McCord Rd.
Head Start opportunities are also available through multiple childcare partners located throughout GLCAP’s service region.
The program offers a daily meal and snacks; medical, mental health, dental, and vision screenings; family engagement activities; and other opportunities for children and families. Children with disabilities are welcome and accommodated at all centers.
“Head Start is ideal for families seeking high-quality, affordable preschool opportunities for their children,” GLCAP Child Development Director Jacquie Wells said. “We provide the learning environment children need to grow, develop, and prepare for entering kindergarten.”
Families are eligible for Head Start if household income is at or below federal poverty guidelines. Children in foster care or who are experiencing homelessness, as well as children from families receiving SNAP benefits or other public assistance are also eligible.
