GLCAP Summer Crisis Program helps residents stay cool

Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) will help eligible Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood County residents stay cool during the summer months through the Summer Crisis Program, taking place July 1 through Sept. 30, 2026, or until funds are exhausted.

Eligible households must be at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (e.g. $27,930 annual income/household of one; $57,750/household of four). For households with eight or more members, income is based on 60% state median income.

In addition to meeting income eligibility requirements, clients must also have a household member who is age 60 or older or has a documented medical condition, or have a disconnection notice or disconnected utilities. The Summer Crisis Program is also available for households that are trying to establish new electric service.

Last year, GLCAP assisted 907 families in Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood County through the Summer Crisis Program.
