GLCAP launches 31st People Helping People campaign

Great Lakes Community Action Partnership will begin its 31st annual People Helping People Campaign starting July 1.

Through the support of private donations, the People Helping Fund provides assistance for individuals and families who are enrolled in GLCAP programs and have needs that cannot be covered through grant-funded services. In the past, the People Helping People Fund has helped program participants with vehicle repairs, grocery costs, and other needs. Last year, the fund was able to assist one participant with closing costs on a home, as well as provide food gift cards for veterans receiving housing assistance through GLCAP’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families program.

“We greatly appreciate the donations our People Helping People supporters have given us over the years,” GLCAP Public Relations Director Alex Boroff said. “Their contributions give us the opportunity to offer additional assistance to those who are most in need of help, and allow GLCAP to help with those unforeseen needs that people may face.”

All donations stay local in GLCAP’s core service region of Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood County, and no funds are used for administrative costs.

Those who are interested in donating to the fund may do so at www.glcap.org/donate.
