Funds available for vehicle repairs

Vehicle repair funds are now available through Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) for eligible residents of Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood County.

The program provides up to $2,500 in repairs for individuals who need their vehicles for education, training, or employment-related purposes. Applicants must be at or below 200% federal poverty guidelines (e.g. $66,000 annual income for a household of four) and must have a dependent living in the household.

“Reliable transportation is critical for families who need to go to work or school, and this program helps those families keep their vehicles up and running,” GLCAP Housing, Energy, and Workforce Director Ragan Claypool said.

Last year, GLCAP provided vehicle repairs for 60 individuals in its four-county service region.

The vehicle repair program is funded through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Support is available now until June 30 or until funding is exhausted. Funds are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
