Applications for utility assistance due May 31

The deadline is approaching to apply for utility bill reductions through the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), due May 31, 2025.

HEAP is a statewide program that provides a one-time energy credit for utility or bulk-fuel bills, and is available to households at or below 175% of federal poverty guidelines (e.g. $54,600/household of four).

Details on HEAP are available locally for residents of Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood County through Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) at www.glcap.org/heap, or by calling 1-800-775-9767.

Applications are also available on the Ohio Department of Development website at www.development.ohio.gov.
