Would you like to advance your career, but aren't sure where to start? GLCAP offers a variety of training programs for rewarding, in-demand careers.
GLCAP works with partners to provide a variety of skills training opportunities in viable, rewarding careers. Our training programs are typically fast-paced, with students earning certifications in less than a year's time. Many programs involve hands-on training along with supportive services to ensure student success. Additionally, programs often include paid on-the-job training and/or internships so students can earn while they learn.
Our Courses
Marine Technician Training
Marine Services Technician Apprenticeship Training teaches skills for careers in the marine industry including motor technicians, electronic installation technicians, marine sales and more. The course provides hands-on training in troubleshooting, service and repair out-board motors, in-board motors, and other skills.
Benefits include:
- Practical, fast-track career training in marine trades.
- Certifications or credentials that include marine technician, welding and boating safety.
- Career coaching support and job placement services through GLCAP.

Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Rapid-Start Program
The Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Rapid-Start Program offers fast-track training, internships, and industry-recognized credentials that can lead you to an in-demand career.
Student benefits:
- Practical, fast-track career training through Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Inc., Northern Ohio Chapter
- Career coaching support and job placement services through GLCAP
- Training and internship hours apply towards Construction Trade Apprenticeship
Employer benefits:
- Pre-screened, work-ready employees for hire
- Paid or unpaid internships and On-the-Job-Training (OJT) reimbursement available
- Partnerships with ABC Inc.and GLCAP to address workplace skill shortages and assistance to meet employer needs
- National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) credentials

Industrial Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship Rapid-Start
The Industrial Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship Rapid-Start Program offers fast-track training, paid internships, and industry-recognized credentials that can lead you to an in-demand career. Electricians earn an average annual wage of $54,110 (Mean Wage — U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, May 2017)
Student benefits:
- Practical, fast-track career training through Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Inc., Northern Ohio Chapter

- Training and internship hours apply towards Electrical Trade Apprenticeship
