Volunteer for Meals on Wheels and help area seniors

The Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) Meals on Wheels program is looking for volunteers to help deliver meals to area seniors in need.

Meals on Wheels provides weekday home-delivered meals to Sandusky County homebound seniors. Volunteer drivers may sign up for delivery days according to their schedules. Meal routes begin at 10:30 a.m. and typically end around noon.

“Meals on Wheels volunteers help ensure that all of Sandusky County’s homebound seniors are cared for,” GLCAP Senior Services Director Robin Richter said. “Whether you are able to deliver once a week or once a month, this is the perfect opportunity for anyone who is wants to make a real difference in the lives of our seniors.”

Volunteer trainings are scheduled for Dec. 18 and 20, both taking place 1-2:30 p.m. at the Stricker Family Development Center, 725 S. Buchanan St. in Fremont.

For more information or to reserve a spot for a training, call GLCAP Meals on Wheels Specialist Jenna Stewart at 419-334-5118.
