Summer Youth Employment program starts

Erie, Ottawa, and Seneca County youth and young adults are eligible to apply for the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership’s (GLCAP) Summer Youth Employment Program now.
GLCAP’s Summer Employment program is partnering with OhioMeansJobs to assist those who qualify and are having trouble finding work this summer. Career coaches are available to help connect participants to local employers who have open positions and are looking for new hires.
“The additional benefits,” said Bonnie Nusser, “are that you will only need to complete one application and based on your eligibility our career coaches will find an employer for you. There are also possibilities of working with a small group of your peers.”
The program is available to youth and young adults aged 16-24 in Seneca County and high school students aged 14-18 in Erie and Ottawa County.
Jobs are available at $10 per hour, now through Sept. 30. Inquirers can call their local OhioMeansJobs Center to learn more and find work now.
