Great Lakes Community Action Partnership will be on partial closure during the winter holidays, but staff will remain available for those who need help through the Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program (EHEAP).
GLCAP offices will be closed Dec. 24 through Jan. 1 in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays. However, EHEAP staff will be on site at select locations to continue to offer scheduled appointments for clients Dec. 26-31. These sites include:
Bowling Green — Jordan Family Development Center, 812 N. College Dr.
Fostoria — Fostoria Family Development Center, 801 Kirk St.
Fremont — GLCAP Headquarters, 127 S. Front St.
Port Clinton — Port Clinton Family Development Center, 1854 E. Perry St.
Additionally, a walk-in day will be available in at GLCAP Headquarters in Fremont on Dec. 31. Walk-in days will also be available Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 in Bowling Green. Walk-in days are only available for those who have less than 25% bulk fuel or whose gas or electric is already shut off, or those who need transfers or deposits.
EHEAP provides emergency financial assistance for residents who are at risk of a utility shut-off of Wood, Sandusky, Ottawa and Seneca counties. EHEAP can also help households purchase wood, kerosene, propane or other bulk fuel supplies.
“We do not want people to face the prospect of losing heat at any time during the winter, but especially during the holidays,” GLCAP Basic Needs Specialist Joyce McCauley-Benner said.
GLCAP will resume regular business hours on Jan. 2 for all services.
Scheduling and details on EHEAP assistance are available online at www.glcap.org/winterheating or by calling 888-441-4327.
