GLCAP funded for homeless veterans employment program

The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (formerly WSOS Community Action Commission) a $396,375 Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) grant to assist area homeless veterans with obtaining employment.
The grant will provide veterans with accelerated training, job placement, supportive services and other needs. Through HVRP funding, WSOS will connect homeless veterans with training in fields such as advanced manufacturing, healthcare, marine trades, logistics and other in-demand careers available throughout the region.
GLCAP will operate HVRP services in a 10-county region that includes Wood, Sandusky, Ottawa, Seneca, Lucas, Hancock, Wyandot, Erie, Huron, and Lorain counties.
“We are proud to be able to add the Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program to the services that we are able to offer to homeless veterans in our region,” GLCAP President/CEO Ruthann House said.
GLCAP currently operates successful homeless assistance, veterans, and employment programs in northwest Ohio, including the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program, which provides housing for homeless veterans and families.
